I had the honour to create some custom shoes for new Edmonton Elks Owner Larry Thompson for the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

In this design I wanted to incorporate elements from all eras of this historic organization. I took the stylization of the 1970’s Esks and merged it with the Current 2020’s EE seemlessly blending the classic with the modern. Larry’s first EE football game was in 1972, I felt this was an important date for the new owner and chose to use the numbers from that era for his shoes. I was asked to try and bring some interests of Stollery Kids into the design aswell and I chose to use the triangle pattern from the EE third jersey for its representation of evergreen trees and the kids love of outdoors. The EE has has an iconic White and Green helmet stripe that I recreated using the tongue and the eyestay.

A big thank you to for reach out with this amazing project!

Custom Nike Tiempo boots for Edmonton Elks Kicker and owner of Gameday Kicking Dean Faithfull.

Dean and I had discussed a simple design to commemorate his 2023 campaign incorporating his brand Gameday Kicking with the existing Nike branding and Elks Colours/Logos. He also wanted to bring a touch of home to his boots by adding the English flag and initials of family. I really enjoyed the challenge of simplicity in this process, finding creative ways to blend design elements together where they meet seamlessly with the factory design.

For Christmas this year my family did a DYI secret Santa and I drew my sister in-laws name. She is an X-Ray Technician and has been teaching my kids all about different bones and the different names for each. I knew I hit a home-run when she opened the box and immediately tried them on to see if the bones were in the right places, she was very excited to find that I had paid attention to the location of each part and included the classic R and L.

I’ve been debating posting this project for a few months now as goalie masks aren’t my forte, but as a Canadian I couldn’t pass up the opportunity. This was my first mask and I’m very proud of how it turned out, it’s also a full circle project as I created the logo for this hockey team as well. There are so many differences to painting a helmet vs painting footwear and I learned Braidon is a Powerline Technician so we decided adding some of his trade to his mask would really bring some uniqueness and personality to the project.

Thanks to for answering some of my questions on mask painting.

Edmonton Elks DB Aaron Grymes 1 of 1 customs designed by Stollery Kid Jace!

This was the very first pair designed for Cleats of Strength. Jace was very shy to start off design day but he was determined to create! Jace and Aaron quickly bonded over their love of football and their families have become quite close since then. Unfortunately due to injuries this season Aaron was unable to wear this pair before the season ended but the pair was auctioned off at the Snowflake Gala where Team Ace (Jace and Aaron) teamed up once again!

That concludes Cleats of Strength 2023. Through 9 pairs of cleats we raised over $10’000 for the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Thank you to all the organizations, sponsors and people who had a part in this amazing project! Thank you to all of the Stollery Kids and their families who I met through this project and were the architects of the designs!

The Edmonton Elks Football Club brought a little purple to the green and gold through the Cleats of Strength partnership this season. 🏈

Nine Stollery kids had the chance to design custom cleats worn by Elks players throughout the season. The game-worn cleats were then auctioned off in support of the Stollery.

We'd like to thank everyone at the Elks, Syngyn Sperling of Momentum Customs and Elks fans across the country for placing bids and making a life-changing difference for kids from backyards across Alberta and beyond. 💜💚💛

Edmonton Elks QB Tre Ford’s 1 of 1 customs designed by Stollery Kid Morgan!

This pair was so much fun to work on! Morgan plays piano and has a passion for music, she also loves Unicorns so we created the worlds first Elk-icorn who lives in a bouquet of her favourite flower.
