Students were inspired as they learned about Powwows, watched a beautiful Fancy Shawl Dance, learned some dance steps, and joined together in a Round Dance. Thank you for creating such a meaningful and engaging experience that will leave a lasting impact on our school community.

This month’s Indigenous Gathering Circle was a meaningful and inspiring time together, centered around the theme of Powerful Indigenous Women and the significance of ribbon skirts.

We were honoured to welcome local country artist Lena Daniels, who shared her voice, her story, and her teachings with us. Through her music and words, students learned about the importance of ribbon skirts and the strength and impact of Indigenous women in our communities.

Together, we enjoyed a snack, created a craft, and strengthened our sense of connection and community.
