Intercept … and treat!

We often think orthodontic movement of teeth is reserved solely for adults. However, in the case of our children, sometimes it is necessary to intercept and treat our kids teeth if their bite is over-crowded or in a position where damage can occur.

For example, if your son has an edge-to-edge bite, damage will occur to the adult incisor teeth well before his teen years when orthodontic treatment usually occurs.

Similarly, if your daughter has a deep overbite or severe crowding, this sets up the adult teeth for the same type of relationship as they typically follow the position primary teeth! In addition, teeth can become worn, chipped, or fractured in this actively repeated biting position.

Intercept when needed … and treat when needed to preserve our children’s adult teeth early in life for a healthy adult smile!

Meet Dr. Bryan Lim!

FLOSS welcomes Dr. Lim’s years of experience having worked rurally in Peace River, AB in addition to a vocation in Terrace, BC. As an Albertan and U of A Dentistry graduate, Dr. Lim is happy to be back home with family and friends. When not practicing his passion for dentistry, Dr. Lim enjoys Muay Thai - the science of 8 limbs.

Meet Katrina!

With a bubbly personality and a warm smile, FLOSS is honoured to have such a hard working team member join the ranks. When she’s not at the office, you will find “Kat” either at the gym, making her famous cupcakes, or using her artistic skills to create detailed face painting characters for kids!

Congratulations to one of the newest to the profession!

It is no secret that applying into dental school can be a competitive, arduous, and sometimes daunting task. When one sees a young mind take flight and rise up to the challenge to become successful - it is a great day!

FLOSS Dentistry prides itself on being an educational facility. It’s team members are constantly growing and learning and passing on valuable knowledge to this next generation. It would be remiss if one did not share the pearls of wisdom taught by previous coaches, teachers, instructors, and mentors to those up and coming.

Meet Morgan!

A graduate of KDM’s Dental Assisting program, we were very lucky to mentor Morgan during her practicum rotation during her academic career. Her quick and observant character and friendly smile are absolute attributes. When she’s not out hiking with her pup Oakley, you might find Morgan hitting the weights at the gym. Only to work off the extra calories from enjoying hot pot as one of her first enjoyed and soul food favorites with the team!
