Whether the autumn is easier or harder for you than the summer, change is hard for everybody. Allow yourself time to adjust to the difference in demands, times, and sunlight as we move into the last quarter of the year.
I don't know about you, but I associate September with new beginnings, being warm and cozy, and of course anxiety. Kicking off a new school year meant learning the styles of new teachers, getting used to different classmates, figuring out the layout at university... all stressful things that threw my nervous system into high alert. I find even now, I feel more on edge around September. This is our reminder to slow down, enjoy the leaves as they start changing, and be patient with ourselves if we feel like there's a shift in our capacity we can't quite put a finger on.
