The weekend is near! We hope you have a superb weekend!

It’s moulting season! 🪶

Moulting is an energetically expensive process birds go through, when they drop their old or worn feathers to make way for new ones. Spring and summer are often a great time for moulting so birds don’t have to expend extra energy warming themselves while they have a few less feathers. 🪶

It’s Meet the Beak Monday! ⭐️

Each Monday we feature some of the incredible birds that reside at our facility. This week, we are meeting the amazing Taz!

Taz is a 4 year old female Gyr Falcon ⚡️ Taz is quite the outgoing girl- she has an impressive resume for her life so far! This gal works with us doing wildlife management at a local waste management facility. She is INCREDIBLE at her job, and our staff truly think she’s mesmerizing to watch fly 🤍 Not only does she do wildlife management, but Taz has also done Flying Demonstrations, helping our team educate folks on the importance of her species. ❄️

Gaston out for a hot boy walk 🥵

Our team scattered food out all through the meadow for Gaston, our Marabou Stork, to wonder about on the ultimate snack mission 🥩 It is fascinating watching how dexterous he is with his beak!

When we fly our Bald Eagles during our Flying Demonstrations, we love seeing the look of awe on our guests’ faces as they watch these majestic birds do what they do best. While thousands of Bald Eagles reside here on the West Coast, there’s something truly special about witnessing one up so close! 🥹

Charlie, a Red-and-green Macaw, and MacArthur, a Military Macaw, out enjoying some sunshine! We absolutely adore these flying rainbows that reside at our facility. ❤️💚 We have 11 wonderful rescue parrots that are cared for by the and can be viewed most days during a visit to our facility!
