Quw'utsun Tumuhw (Cowichan Land Code) will be the land laws of the Cowichan Tribes, and will replace the 44+ land management provisions of the Indian Act.

Cowichan Tribes votes to adopt land code - Cowichan Valley Citizen Gives First Nation more control over land and resources
We are happy to announce that Cowichan Tribes voted to ACCEPT our ‘Quw’utsun Tumuhw ‘. 602 of our members participated in the vote making Cowichan Tribes the 89th First Nation in Canada and the 49th First Nation in BC to have voted to ACCEPT a Land Code. Thank you to everyone who came out to participate in the vote. We are excited to be taking back control of our reserve land management! Official results will be provided by October 1, 2019 once the Verifier has certified the vote.
602 of our members participated in the Quw’utsun Tumuhw vote with:
460 “YES”
141 “NO”
1 “SPOILED”.
