Looking for something new to read? (No, you're not getting BLESSING for a good while yet, as I'm not finished writing it...but in the meantime...)
My good friend, Chris Humphreys (aka "C.C. Humphreys") has an excellent new historical novel out, called THE DOUBLE LIFE OF EVE SINCLAIR. Set during WWII, in England and Norway, it's a story of espionage, love and danger (all specialties of Mr. Humphreys ).
Chris is one of my favorite historical authors (love his Jack Absolute series, about an 18th-century soldier/adventurer, but have never read anything of his that I didn't find compelling and entertaining.

A reading from author Theresa Kishkan who visited us at Volume One today to sign copies of her new memoir.
Her beautiful book from is a meditation on the male gaze as she looks back at her time with the Victoria artist Jack Wilkinson. She writes of reclaiming one’s younger self, and on agency: how we lose it, how we find it again.
Signed copies available.
The award-winning, bestselling author of Hamnet and The Marriage Portrait returns with a soaring historical novel set in Ireland in the years before and after The Great Hunger.
Ah, the irony! 💩💩💩
This is actually a great book by the way! Here’s a little about it:
Ensh*ttification: It’s not just you—the internet sucks now. It’s been ensh*ttified. That was no accident, and it’s not gonna fix itself. Here’s how we’ll disensh*ttify it so we can have a new, good internet.
In Ensh*ttification, Cory Doctorow shows us how this has come to pass: not from the iron laws of economics, or the great forces of history, but specific policy choices made by powerful people who ignored every warning about the consequences of those choices. These are choices that can be undone. Ensh*ttification is a Big Tech disassembly manual, a road map for the seizure of the means of computation. It is a diagnosis, and it is a cure.
