Heading into the International Bridge Conference (IBC) This Week! 🌉
We are thrilled to highlight two crucial workshops happening on Wednesday, June 17, at National Harbor, MD. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity to dive deep into the future of infrastructure and the evolving role of FRP Composites.
📅 Mark Your Calendar – Wednesday, June 17, 2026:
8:00 AM - 10:00 AM: IBC 07 Workshop | Bridge Construction with FRP Composites - Today and Tomorrow
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: IBC 08 Workshop | FRP Reinforced Concrete – Proven Performance, Established Specifications, and Recent Project Recognition for Bridge Solutions
A massive thank you to the Transportation Structures Council (TSC) and the FRP Rebar Manufacturers Council (FRP-RMC) for their incredible support in making these workshops possible. Together, we are bridging the gap in educating end-users on the massive benefits of FRP Composites! 🙌
We also want to give a special shoutout to our expert speakers representing both Councils:
Gregg Blaszak, PE – Coastline Composites
Brandon Weyant – Creative Composites Group
Danielle Kleinhans, PhD, PE – Mateenbar
Rudi Sericino, PhD – NC State University
Francisco De Caso, PhD, PE – University of Miami

"We are pleased to announce that the SFTec team has recently published a paper entitled "Development and Testing of GFRP Connectors in Compression" in the proceedings of the 9th International Conference on Advanced Composite Materials in Bridges and Structures (ACMBS-IX), CSCE 2025, Winnipeg, Canada.
The paper investigates the compressive performance of our SFT-Bar® GFRP connectors and demonstrates their effectiveness for construction applications. The results indicate that the use of SFT-Bar® GFRP connectors offers several advantages over conventional steel connectors, including corrosion resistance and durability benefits, while also providing higher compressive strength compared to existing GFRP connector systems.
We would like to thank the entire SFTec team for their valuable contributions to this achievement and for their continued support of research and innovation in the field of fiber-reinforced polymers (FRP)."

Development and Testing of GFRP Connectors in Compression | 9th International Conference on Advanced Composite Materials in Bridges and Structures, 2025, Volume 1 Glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) connectors are increasingly used in core-insulated double walls of buildings to eliminate thermal bridges and ensure consistent wall thickness. GFRP connectors are also used in concrete members subject to compressive loads. This study investigates the effect of....

Bridge decks.
Marine structures.
Parking garages.
These environments destroy steel.
But SFT-Bar® thrives where corrosion is a problem.
