Summer (at last) draws nigh and so too does the return of Hitster!
This time we will also be playing the "Summer Party" expansion! Play solo or in teams to build a timeline of 10 songs from thousands spanning the years 1908 - 2026 to be crowned the Hitster! Do your best to place the song in its correct spot on your timeline based on a 30-second clip, but watch out — other players can steal your song if you get it wrong!
Stop in at the library after 4 PM Mondays to join the fun for all ages! Learning how to play takes less than a minute!

For fiction: There is a three-novella collection of tales set in the world of darkness's "Vampire: The Masquerade", a new western in "Train to Durango", "Star Wars" and the return of "Animorphs" among others.

Some new books in this week including "Horseshoes & Hand Grenades." The autobiography of former Mötley Crüe frontman John Corabi.
In this tell-almost-all book, Corabi recounts his life beginning from his difficult youth growing up in some of Philadelphia's rougher neighborhoods, dark family secrets, a close call with one of America's most deranged serial killers, all the way up to becoming the singer for one of the world's biggest rock bands.
In the aftermath of his sudden dismissal from the band after years of touring together, making crazy money, partying with movie stars like Sandra Bullock and Sylvester Stallone, and taking helicopters to weddings, John finds a renewed sense of purpose in his life in his family and raising two young children...
Sign this and other great music biographies out at the Donalda Library today! For my money, the '94 Mötley Crüe album is their best and if you ever want to hear what "Kickstart My Heart" sounds like with a singer who can sing in key and remember all the lyrics, check out some YouTube videos of Corabi and the Crüe back in the day.

New Book Arrival: When the sun set over Tsavo, Kenya in 1898, living nightmares began.
Out of the darkness came two man-eating lions to assault the 8-mile camp of workers building the Uganda-Kenya railway and, over 8 harrowing months, dragged off and devoured more than 100 workers.
Tasked with not only building a bridge but now also having to deal with the lions putting the entire endeavor at risk, Lieutenant Colonel John Henry Patterson set out to hunt the lions.
Today, the Tsavo Man-Eaters are on display at the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago Illinois. It is now known that the lions were actually brothers, who suffered from a hereditary problem that caused their teeth to become softer and brittle. Unable to eat the thick-hided livestock and the work camp having driven softer game away, humans became the most plentiful and edible food source in the area.
Sign out "The Man-Eaters of Tsavo", Patterson's first-hand account of the lions' reign of terror, which was also adapted into the 1996 film starring Val Kilmer and Michael Douglas "The Ghost and The Darkness" at the Donalda Library today!
