Atlantic Canada 🇨🇦 Welcome to Wild Grit Acres — a homestead held together by screws and coffee.
I’m building a new life from the ground up on 44 wild acres in Atlantic Canada. You’ll find real-life homesteading, DIY projects, woodworking, garden builds, and the occasional sarcastic rant when something breaks (again). This channel isn’t about perfection — it’s about grit, humor, and doing things your own way. Whether I’m fixing fences, making something out of wood, or just figuring it out as

Sketching ideas. Thinking in acres. The land will decide the details.

I won’t be planting this spring — but I am planning.
I’m sketching out garden ideas for 2, 5, even 10 acres. Thinking about flow, spacing, access, and how everything could work together.
Once I’m on the land, the sun, soil, and wind will have the final say — but this is how the vision starts.
This year is about learning the land before planting it. Hard to sit this one out — but future me (and my future garden) will be glad I did.

Spring is 31 days away and I can feel it.
Everyone’s buying seeds, planning gardens, and getting ready to start seedlings — and honestly, I’m itching to join in. I love gardening.
But I don’t land on the property until May, and I know this is one of those moments where pulling back now pays off later. Rushing a garden before I understand the sun, the soil, and the land itself would just be busy work.
It’s hard sitting out something you love. But I also know my future garden will be worth the wait.
So for now, I’m planning. (Impatiently.) 😄

Happy Family Day!
Love my land, tools and coffee - they don't care if I'm covered in mud or sawdust 😅💜

Love this more than Valentine’s Day.
No drama. No mixed signals.
Just dirt, trees, and long-term commitment 💖
I decided this wastewater setup was better than an outhouse (I don’t do outhouses… yuck 😂).

This was the last piece of infrastructure I needed in place before moving onto the property.
I decided this wastewater setup was better than an outhouse (I don’t do outhouses… yuck 😂).
It’s not exciting, and it’s definitely not pretty — but it’s essential.
Power, access, and wastewater aren’t the fun parts of starting a homestead. They’re the parts that make everything else possible.
With this done, the land is finally ready for me to arrive.
Moving day is coming.
The land isn’t finished — but it’s ready.
Excited because I could finally plan the move. Panicked because the bill was due. This was the moment the homestead stopped being an idea.
