RE: Collaborative Learning Days

Considering the higher-than-average snow days across the 3 counties of the Tri-County Regional Centre for Education this school year, we have decided to cancel the remaining 3
scheduled Collaborative Learning Days. These days were scheduled for the following:

• Thursday, March 26th, 2026
• Thursday, April 16th, 2026
• Thursday, May 7th, 2026

Maximizing instructional time for our students is of the utmost importance and making this change all but regains a full lost day of instruction. While we value the Collaborative Learning Days and the opportunities they provide our staff for collaboration, we need to be responsive and ensure our students are in school as much as possible.

In the spring, we will gather some feedback from our families as we explore further mitigation strategies for the 2026/2027 school year, which will include revisiting ‘delayed starts’ on days such as our most recent snow day on Wednesday, March 4th.

We wish to acknowledge the complexities these cancelations create for families, and we assure you that these decisions are made with a great deal of care and consideration that focuses on the safety of our students, families and staff.

This is where we stand right now. A reminder that attendance is taken as expected on “exam days.”

Due to the extended closure for the storm and clean up, the assessment and exam schedule as well as the bell schedule is updated below. Second semester will now begin on Thursday February 5th.

Due to additional snowfall amounts and ongoing cleanup, all TCRCE schools remain closed today, Wednesday, January 28th.

All TCRCE offices and worksites will have a delayed opening of 10:00 a.m.

Today students had the chance to attend NSCC’s Open House where we got a tour of the Digby Campus including their Business Program classroom, the Mobile Skilled Trades Electrical building and the CCA lab.

Students participated in a “how clean are your hands.” Once glow germ was rubbed into their hands they had to try to wash off the “germs.” You’ll notice that the germs glow orange…

Digby Alt students designed and anonymously presented school logos to DRHS Administration who selected, after a lot of deliberation, this amazing design by Brookelynn!
