In April of 2025 we, The Rural Alberta Ride For Dad, partnered with the Didsbury AG Society in a raffle of a BBQ that was donated by the Didsbury Home Hardware. Throughout the year this BBQ was at various different locations, selling tickets. Today, March 7th, we drew the winning the ticket for this BBQ. And the winning ticket that was drawn belonged to Ashley Edwards. Congratulations to Ashley. Thank you to everyone that purchased tickets for this draw. Proceeds for this raffle is shared by the Didsbury AG Society and the Rural Alberta Ride For Dad. A huge thank you to Didsbury Home Hardware for donating the BBQ, To Feeg's Propane for donating the propane and bottle, to Lygas Co for donating the signage, and to Didsbury ATB for selling tickets and to everyone that contributed. This Colts organisation always raises the bar when it comes to fund raising and supporting Ride For Dad and the fight against prostate cancer. And this year was no different. This year, unlike any other year, the players, the organisation and the families did an outstanding job raising an amazing $16,345.00 dollars towards the fight against this deadly disease. The entire Ride For Dad organisation, from coast to coast, the men who are affected by this disease and their families are forever grateful for their dedication and their continued support. This amazing hockey team and the entire organisation came on board in 2010, raising funding for this disease and in total since then have raised an astounding just over 1/4 of a million dollars. A portion of the money that is raised gets funnelled to the various research doctors here in Alberta which in turn is used for seed money for these doctors to recieve funding for the research for finding better ways to detect and to cure the disease. The rest of the funding is used to get the awareness out there. To tell men to get checked. The best cure for any cancer is early detection. The Rural Alberta Motorcycle Ride For Dad is very proud of the partnership that we have with the Mountain View Colts. Thank You.

This past weekend, Amy and I were very fortunate to be invited to the 2025 Coaldale Awards and Appreciation Banquet hosted by the Coaldale Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Town of Coaldale. One of the proud recipients was Southern Alberta's Motorcycle Ride For Dad, Mark Anderson, Co-Chair of the Coaldale based chapter. The award was the " Special Tribute Of The Year" . Mark's commitment towards the success of this organisation has been unwavering since its beginings in 2022. In 2025, Mark, partnering with the Town of Coaldale, was instrumental in bringing Jason McCoy and the Road Hammers to Coaldale for a concert with the proceeds going towards the fight against prostate cancer. Hats off to you Mark, Carol, and Peter and the rest of the Southern Aberta Ride For Dad crew for their amazing efforts and commitments and support in raising funding towards this deadly disease, prostate cancer.

On their travels through Berlin, Rural Alberta Chapter supporters Gil and Amy made a special stop at the BMW Motorrad plant and museum, bringing a piece of Ride For Dad with them. They proudly presented the BMW team with a Ride For Dad banner, a gesture celebrating the strong partnership between BMW Motorrad and Ride For Dad in the fight against prostate cancer.
