Ladner Pioneer's are hosting the Jr. B lacrosse finals at the Ladner Leisure Center. These photos are from Ladners 13-8 win over the Standing Buffalo Fighting Sioux and their 5-4 win over the Victoria Shamrocks. Ladner plays Edmonton Miners in the gold medal game at 6 o'clock tonight 31st of August. More photos and stories are on the Delta Optimist web site.

Was At The senior men's Western Canadian Baseball Championship last Saturday the 17th. These are from the opening day game between the South Delta Padres and the South Delta Brewers. The Padres took that game 16-13. the Winnipeg A's won the tournament with a 2-0 win over the Brewers

Thomas Haydon Memorial Award was presented at the Junior 'A' Lacrosse game between the Delta Islanders and the Poco Saints

Caught up with the windsurfers at Centennial beach last Sunday. I was freezing but they didn't seem to mind. It was fun I think I'll go again. I'll dress warmer next time.
