Let’s go to Westham Island!

It’s been just over 2 months since the bridge reopened after a 10 week closure following a barge accident. After months of uncertainty for farmers, residents, staff and our farm stand customers, we are SO excited to reopen on our summer hours starting tomorrow.

It was an unusual start to the season (to say the least) and our team had been working so hard to prepare for our summer schedule. Early June is looking bountiful on the farm and we will be starting at Kitsilano Farmers Market THIS SUNDAY!

Come on by, we truly can’t wait to see you.

The Farm Stand will be open 10-5PM Tuesday-Sunday (closed Mondays) starting Friday, June 5th. We have lots of specials and good food for early summer eating!

And yes, you might see a pheasant 😂

JUST THREE DAYS UNTIL THE FARMSTAND OPENS FOR THE SUMMER!

Cucumbers are in a abundance and a great way to beat the heat!

Try this 🥒Agua de Pepino🥒 Recipe for a refreshing drink. One of Bruno's favorites:

4 cups water
3 large cucumbers, peeled and chopped
¼ cup granulated sugar, plus more as needed
¼ cup lime juice

1. Blend water, cucumbers and sugar.
2. Strain the liquid to remove the pulp.
3. Stir in the lime juice.
4. Try adding a splash of sparkling water for a fizzy finish.
5. Garnish with a slice of cucumber or lime.

Farmstand Hours Starting Friday June 5th:
Tuesday - Sunday, 10am-5pm (Closed Monday)

The Countdown continues...

Just 5 days away from Farmstand opening for the Summer Season!

We are loving munching on these peppery radishes right now! Great as a crunchy snack with dip or hummus. Or try them quick pickled as a topping on your favorite tacos and burgers. Or have a French inspired lunch of a crusty baguette topped with butter and salted sliced radishes. Yum!

As Summer nears closer what veggies are you dreaming of and how are you preparing them?

Canada’s quietest $20-billion megaproject happens every spring in agriculture 05/05/2026

Enjoyed reading this piece in the Globe and Mail this weekend.

It is incredibly precise and detailed, with months of planning. It is also incredibly stressful, both with the financials and long hours and still incredibly amazing what all the farms across this country do each year. We risk so much each and every year to get food on the table and wouldn’t change it for a second yet.

A thoughtful article with an interesting and unsung perspective on the yearly megaproject that is feeding our nation.
