Boycotting the census does not send a political message — it creates an undercount that directly affects YOUR community.
Based on the 2026 Municipal Revenue Sharing grant the Town receives from the Province ($323.12 per person annually), the impact of NOT completing your census is:
• $323.12 lost per person, per year
• Census cycle is 5 years
• Total loss per uncounted person over 5 years: $1,615.60
If 10 people do not complete the census:
• $3,231.20 lost per year, OR
• $16,156 lost over the 5-year census cycle
If 25 people do not complete the census:
• $8,078 lost per year, OR
• $40,390 lost over the 5-year census cycle
And those figures do not include the additional impacts on funding for libraries, RCMP services, education, healthcare, and other programs.
Census numbers also affect grants such as Sask Lotteries funding, which supports many local organizations including:
• Central Sask Music Festival
• Davidson Health Centre
• Davidson Avengers Cricket
• Davidson Junior Cyclones
• Davidson Junior Rec Hockey
• Davidson Public Library
• Davidson Skatepark Committee
• Little Acres Learning Centre
These funding losses can be significant and may ultimately affect the Town’s operating budget, School Division funding, services, and even YOUR property taxes.
Do YOUR part — be counted! Complete your 2026 Census.
If you have not received your census form, contact Statistics Canada toll-free at 1-833-852-2026.
