Hi all, Steve here, I know I don’t post often but I wanted to share a really amazing outing we had today.
We provide respite care for this amazing family. Part of that respite care is taking George out on adventures. We’ve been taking one of the companion animals, Fish, with us and going further and further each time. Today we went up to Paradise Meadows and walked all the way to Battleship Lake, it was a goal we were working toward. Mission accomplished, George crushed it.
I got some great shots of the Whiskey Jacks eating out of his hand and a few shots of the amazing scenery out there. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as we enjoyed the experience.
My favourite photo is the one of Fishy by the outhouse. He stood by the door and wouldn’t leave George’s side, I think he wanted to be sure George didn’t get left behind. Gotta love herding dogs lol.
If you ever want your loved one to be able to go on adventures, despite any struggles they may be living with, we’d be happy to take them. Today was a great day. Thank you to George and his family for allowing me to share this.

"Thank you for listening to me. No one listens to me anymore."
Those words stopped me in my tracks.
What started as a simple ride to a medical appointment became a powerful reminder of something many seniors are missing today: connection.
This gentleman didn't need advice. He didn't need solutions. He just needed someone willing to listen.
His story is one I'll never forget. ❤️

When Dementia Enters the Picture
If someone in your life is living with dementia, whether that’s a parent, a customer, a neighbour, or a client, you’ve probably already noticed that communication starts to feel… different.
It’s not just about memory. It’s about how someone experiences the world. And that shift can feel confusing, sometimes even frustrating, especially if you’re trying to “bring them back” to how things used to be. But here’s a gentle reframe that can make a big difference, instead of trying to pull them into your reality, what if we stepped into theirs?
