The Aboriginal Supported Child Development and Supported Child Development Team was out delivering Cumberland donuts today as a small thank you to the Comox Valley Schools staff who partnered with the CVCDA to host Kindergarten Transition Meetings for families preparing for this important milestone.
These meetings help families feel welcomed, supported, and connected as their children begin their school journey. We are grateful for the collaboration and commitment of school staff across the valley.
When schools, families, and community partners work together, we help create a stronger, more connected village for Comox Valley children and families.

qathet/Powell River CCRR hosted a gathering of Early Years Educators on the evening of May 27th.
The gathering was held in the Pavilion at Willingdon Beach - overlooking the Ocean - glorious weather and spectacular view of Vancouver Island.
Our guests were treated to a sit down catered dinner - the tables were decorated with lace table clothes, China plates, candles, mini lights, fresh flowers, cedar rounds and goodie bags filled with chocolates. We had a drumming circle with Boomtaka Drumming instructor Chris Weeks - it was magical! Guests were singing, drumming and dancing!
Guests were welcomed to explore the 4 craft tables - rock painting, inking, felting and fairy doors. Wonderful creations were made.
It was beautiful to see our Early Years Educators come together for an evening just for them and to mingle and make connections. It was a joyful evening. - Michelle Carty
