Yes or other drugs. I get using them once in a while to relieve pain or whatever but some people take it to a whole new level and then brag about it.. I don't see this as a flex.

When we are codependent, we live a below the veil of consciousness life, unaware we are operating through the wounds of our wounded inner child.

Codependents often grew up feeling as if they needed to appease their parents to avoid criticism, abandonment, or retaliation.

As adults, we have learned that toning ourselves down, avoiding conflicts, and finding ways to get our needs met without ruffling the feathers of a narcissistic partner seems to be the path of least resistance.

We could never know that our childhood wounds are causing us to abandon the self for the sake of another and that when we disown the self to avoid necessary conflicts, we are conditioning others to believe their needs matter more than our own.

Healing requires letting go of needing to appease others at the expense of yourself.

Be bold, and courageous, and accept others' faulty perceptions of you. If the people you know continue to put you in the position of needing to defend yourself, it's time to recognize this dynamic as a huge red flag.

Dear One, the people that love you don't frustrate you or put you in a position where you need to prove or defend yourself.

Never settle for codependency to survive a toxic relationship...ever!

Life has been hard lately to say the least... but I wanted to say I'm excited to be starting my own therapy journey... that way I will be better able to support others as I navigate my own world of struggles and emotions/ childhood / past domestic trauma.... wish me luck 🙏 ♥️🙌
