Brady and I tagged along to count fish the other day. Traps are placed along the creeks on our property and the neighbours. Used to see if the salmon prefer one environment over another. 🐟

🌲 Growing Something Special at Four Fields Farm 🎄
With spring around the corner I’m already thinking about trees! And all the varieties that thrive right here on the West Coast. Wondering what we’re growing??
We have started:
✨ Canaan Fir – excellent needle retention and a rich Christmas scent
✨ Grand Fir – lush, fragrant, and fast-growing
✨ Sitka Spruce – a true coastal classic
✨ Western Hemlock – soft, elegant, and locally adapted
✨ Leyland Cedar – perfect for privacy hedges and fast-growing greenery
And we’re excited to expand our mix this year with maybe:
🌲 Douglas Fir – a timeless favourite and West Coast icon
🌲 Balsam Fir – known for its classic Christmas fragrance
🌲 Ponderosa Pine – tall, hardy, and full of character
And whatever else I might fall in love with. We’ve chosen varieties that are resilient, beautiful, and well suited to our growing conditions — so keep us in mind for your future Christmas tree, a rental tree, or a landscape feature.

Yesterday was a record day for how much water was flowing through our property.. and the Comox Valley. Creeks turned to rivers, and fields to ponds. A massive maple tree took out a section of our fence too. I think I’ll go do the same video clips today and see how much different the creeks are today fourfieldsfarm
