Today’s my birthday and I’m embracing my wildflower 🌼 era.
Over the past year, I’ve found myself thinking a lot about wildflowers and why I’m drawn to them. They’re radiant, full of colour, and each one is different. They don’t compete with the flowers around them or try to become something they’re not. They simply exist as themselves, adding their own beauty to the landscape while making the whole meadow more beautiful because of their presence.
That’s the kind of presence I want to have in the world.
I don’t want to blend in, and I don’t want to stand above. I simply want to live in full colour. To follow my own path with ease, bring creativity, kindness, and joy wherever I am, and celebrate the unique gifts that other people bring too.
To me, authenticity isn’t about being the loudest or the most noticed. It’s about having the courage to be unmistakably yourself.
As I step into another year, I’m choosing more alignment, more curiosity, more creativity, and more of what feels true to who I am.
Here’s to another trip around the sun, and to living life in full colour.
🤍🩵A big thanks for Stephanie for designing the most stunning birthday bouquet with over 40 fresh cut stems perfectly designed for my radiance era.🤍🩵

People often ask if we’ve settled into life in Ontario after moving from Nova Scotia. The answer is yes… and no.
We’ve built a beautiful life here. We’ve found incredible people, meaningful work, and a community that has welcomed us with open arms. With each passing year, our roots grow a little deeper.
But there’s a quiet truth about being “from away.”
No matter how connected I become, a small part of me will probably always feel like an outsider. Not in a lonely or negative way. It’s simply the reality of leaving the place that shaped you.
Then I land in Nova Scotia.
The ocean air greets me before I even leave the airport. The winding coastal roads, the salty breeze, the familiar accents, the rugged shoreline, and the endless beauty remind me that this place still lives within me. Even after all these years, it feels like home in a way that’s difficult to explain unless you’ve experienced it yourself.
Summer on the East Coast has a way of slowing time. The days stretch a little longer, the sunsets linger, and every walk along the shore feels like medicine for the soul. It’s where some of our family’s most treasured memories are made.
Maybe that’s why we’ve worked so hard to create little pieces of Nova Scotia here at home. Our trails through the trees, the campfires, the brook, the outdoor spaces where we gather, and the slower pace we’ve tried to cultivate are all small reminders of the place that will always have a piece of my heart.
It’s a bittersweet balance. Loving the life we’ve built while deeply missing the place we left behind.
Each summer, I return to fill my cup with East Coast warmth, ocean breezes, and the kind of peace that only home can offer. I carry a little of it back with me, knowing it has to last until the next visit.
Home, I’ve realized, isn’t always one place. Sometimes it’s where you’ve planted your life. And sometimes it’s the place that will always call you back.

Every summer, we make our way back to Nova Scotia.
It’s a chance to slow down, reconnect with family and friends, and give my boys the kind of summer memories I grew up with. The ones filled with endless beach days, lake swims, salty hair, sandy feet, ocean breezes, and the simple joy of being outside from sunrise to sunset.
This trip was exactly what we needed. A break from work. A change of pace. Time to breathe a little deeper and remember how little it takes to feel completely content.
Living in Ontario has given us so much, but as someone who has always felt at home by the ocean, I still miss it every day. There is something about the rhythm of the waves, the coastal air, and the vastness of the sea that fills a part of me nothing else can. So each summer, I make sure to get my ocean fix.
Until next time, Nova Scotia. Thank you for another beautiful summer of memories.
It has a nostalgic, grounded feel while complementing the individual captions on each photo without repeating them.
