Coquitlam Search and Rescue would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Coquitlam Sunrise Rotary for your ongoing support and partnership. Coquitlam Search and Rescue is partnering with Mariner Brewing for a fundraiser for the team. For $30 you get a burger and a beer with $5 going to the team. You can purchase on site on Saturday June 6 from noon to 6 pm.
The team will be onsite to answer your questions and sell our coveted survival kits as well as dog toys and leashes made from upcycled safety rope. Bring your pup out and have them pick out a toy while you enjoy your burger and amazing refreshing bevy.

Last night, our members went through various kits that get deployed out on medical and trauma tasks. These kits are regularly checked and reviewed to ensure that they are ready to be deployed into the field.

A look back at a Coquitlam Search and Rescue exercise at Pitt Lake, where members trained in the rugged terrain and waterways that continue to challenge our team today.

The gear may have changed… the hairstyles definitely have… but the commitment to bringing people home safely has remained the same. And yes, apparently high-vis orange was very in style.

For generations, Coquitlam SAR volunteers have answered the call—on land, on water, and in some of the most challenging environments in British Columbia.

Over the past couple of weeks, our team has been working towards expanding our capabilities. Back in March a number of our members were certified for Night Vision Hoist Operations as well as Night Vision Hover Entry/Exit.

Just last weekend, our Class D team also trained to utilize the Petzl Lezard which is a hoist/mountain rescue tool which is designed for helicopter operations when the rescue tech is inserted into steep mountainous terrain - it ensures the helicopter is linked to the terrain with a detachable link.

We would like to thank all those who were critical in pioneering these new capabilities, including our partners at EMCR, the BCSARA Helicopter Operations Working Group, North Shore Rescue and especially Talon Helicopters.

Another great day at the Fingerling Festival in Port Moody!

We always enjoy connecting with so many incredible members of our community, sharing safety tips, talking about what we do, and meeting both familiar and new faces. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, ask questions, and support your local search and rescue team.

We love seeing kids (and future SAR members!) stop by, ask questions, learn a few knots, and have some fun with the team. Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a great day!
