Today was a tough one and long overdue!

I am sorry that it’s taken since the end of 2019 to come see you friend; god knows I’ve tried. It took me a long time to get to a point where being in the area didn’t give me overwhelming anxiety and sadness. It was nice to sit and chat with you over a beer about the event and how it affected so many peoples lives. Everyone down here misses you and we think of you often. I will stop by more often to sit and chat.

Today is a very emotional day as I went to visit a friend that had left us due to Mental Health at the end of 2019; it was the first time I have been able to attend the scene since the event. I was the first on scene. For the past few years I have avoided the location and driven passed it and every time my anxiety would increase and sit with me for awhile. It was nice to sit there with Sebbi and chat about all the anger and sadness that followed the event. It’s been a tough few years for me as I’ve lost a friend, my other half, and dealt with a string of Mental Health issues. I’ve struggled with dissociation, depression, anxiety and PTSD. I’ve attended equine therapy, the OSI and and countless other programs to regain control of my life again and escape the dark.

It’s been a long road but I am finally feeling better and more myself. There is still a lot of work to do but It’s nice to see and talk with people that I haven’t seen or spoken to in years, it’s nice to get out and finally feel “normal”.

I am sorry to all my friends and family for disappearing for so long. I also want to say thank you to all that have been in my corner through all of this; I appreciate you more than words can express.

June is Men’s Mental Health Month. Please remember to check on each other and seek help if needed.

June is a month dedicated to men's mental health and we all have to do better to support each other in this. Too many of my friends have had to bury their friends because they lost the battle within their own minds. This is going to take all of us to bypass the stigmas associated with seeking mental help when we need it. We have to be more active in doing things that strengthen our minds and our health, like going to the gym, eating healthy, finding hobbies we enjoy, spending time with friends and family getting sunlight. It's okay to ask for help, we all need it from time to time whether that be just asking a friend if they have time for a phone call or time to go get coffee or if it's scheduling an appointment to talk to a professional. We have to do this for us all. We need you and we want you to stay.
