Which roof design would you choose?

I have always had an uneasy feeling about purchasing plans from those certain stock plan websites, because you really don't know if they are legitimate plans that will actually work for construction or permits (especially if you're building around RVC!)

So I'm working on a collection of plans based on my 13 years of design experience, while offering easy options for upgrades and add-ons. This way, you will have the peace of mind that your home design has been well thought out and guaranteed to work for Building Permit and Construction.

This is a sneak peak of an 1800 sqft barndominium with a 1200 sqft shop.

I've done some "Shouse" designs in the past, and the big difference between these two is curb appeal. A Shouse is more like a shop with living quarters, with little resemblance to a home.

But if you're looking for something a little more aesthetically pleasing, a Barndo is the perfect combo of function and style!

Their simple design leads to a more affordable build, which means putting more money towards your alpaca farm.... or whatever you've got growing on your acreage!

This multi-style roof was designed to showcase a vaulted timber truss living area, along with a single-slope roof for solar panel installation on the south.

Handmade and homegrown...

In a world that glamorizes synthetic perfection, these clients chose to create a home filled with natural elements and finishes.

The timbers were chosen specifically for their natural curves to form braces and stair stringers. Rammed earth flooring was placed in the south-facing living room to act as a thermal mass (a passive solar technique to regulate the temperature of your home)

The craftsmanship in this home displays a true labour of love, and I'm forever grateful to have been a part of the process.

My idea of luxury is living steps away from a view like this.

Bragg Creek is a hidden gem with some beautiful homes (and a few fixer uppers) along with endless walking and biking trails!
