I love how the mountain was perfectly framed here.

I played with contrast a lot on this painting. Definitely one of my favourites from 2025.

This was painted as a smaller study for a larger oil painting that I haven't started yet.

Painting live in public adds a different kind of energy to the process. This was one of my first paintings done in outside the studio and was also mostly finished in one sitting.

This one changed direction halfway through, and I decided not to fight it.

The painting was mostly intended as a study to paint shallow river rocks and the reference was a summer scene but I really liked how adding some oranges and reds to the trees complimented the scene so I shifted it to be an autumn scene instead.

For me some paintings are more about the memory behind them than the view itself. This small little hike in Manning Park was such a great day, and one of my youngest daughter's first official hikes.
