My friend died 10 years ago and what’s imprinted on me the most since has been his mom’s journey through life after loss. I know he would be so happy to see her living and thriving, not denying the pain but letting it co-exist with the joy that also find its way to her! She inspires me greatly and inspired this song called "Beyond the finality"

One week ago I was putting up my first exhibit ever 🌅 !! thank you to everyone who came by, thank you so so much 💘 Walking through the different rooms and seeing all the incredible pieces made for “Cicada” was one of the most gratifying moments of my life! I am very lucky, I also work very hard 🏚️ and I haven’t felt proud like this in a long time: “Cicada” is my best work of art yet and I am so grateful for those of you who connect to it the way you do 🤍🪲 How magical!! Yay for music and yay for art!

I’d love to know what your favourite song of the album is so please let me know! I think mine is “I bark at the moon so the sun knows I’ve held on” today but it might change tomorrow :)

I’ve alway been obsessed with nostalgia, memories of playing on my keyboard alone in my room at my dad’s, trying to emulate those emotions through wonky sounds, thinking to myself 9 year old self I must have definitely lived some before I was born ! :) Making Cicada, I got to explore all the spaces I had only ever visited in my mind, familiar places I’d never been in, and create inside them, surrendering myself to the concept that when we die our life flashes before our eyes: each song is a souvenir, imagined, remembered, distorted and sometimes made up, and it’s all yours on Thursday :) 📦🪑🫧🚪🍴
