Thank you, Lake Ridge!

Saturday night, a wonderful group of volunteers represented Lake Ridge at Light the Night, hosted by the Chestermere Women’s Crisis Society (CWCS).

Our team helped host the Tree of Solidarity, creating a space for people to leave messages of hope, strength, encouragement, and solidarity for those impacted by domestic and family violence. We also had volunteers helping wherever they were needed throughout the evening.

We’re so grateful for each person who gave their time, showed up with compassion, and helped our community stand together in support of such an important cause.

And a huge thank you to CWCS for the work you do every day to support individuals and families in our community — and for creating an evening that brings awareness to gender-based violence while reminding survivors that they are seen, supported, and not alone.

To our Lake Ridge volunteers: thank you for showing up and loving our community so well.

We painted a lantern, but it represents something much bigger.

This month, Lake Ridge is honoured to be part of Light the Night, supporting Chestermere Women’s Crisis Society (CWCS) and helping bring awareness to gender-based violence in our community.

Our lantern was created around themes of light, hope, love, and the path ahead — small reminders of what it can mean to stand alongside someone navigating an incredibly difficult season.

Gender-based violence is not something that only happens somewhere else. It affects people in our own communities, and awareness matters. Support matters. Creating spaces where people are believed, valued, and know where to turn matters.

On September 19, we’ll be hosting one of the stations at Light the Night, standing alongside CWCS and our community as we shine a light on gender-based violence and the work being done to support those impacted by it.

We’d love for you to join us.

Eight people stepped into the water and publicly declared their faith in Jesus and our church family had the incredible privilege of standing beside them, cheering them on, praying with them, and celebrating together.

There’s something powerful about baptism. It’s a visible marker of a life being made new. A declaration that says, “I have decided to follow Jesus.”

To each person who was baptized: we are so grateful for your courage, your stories, and the ways God is at work in your lives. We’re honoured to walk alongside you in whatever comes next.

And to our Lake Ridge family: Thank you for showing up, bringing food, pulling up chairs, celebrating loudly, and making this such a beautiful day together.
