T&R Day | September 30
On September 30, Linck staff were given the opportunity to learn more about the deep, generational trauma caused by the Sixties Scoop and the people and institutions that are responsible.
Our commitment to truth and reconciliation calls us to listen to the experiences of the children who were separated from their families, cultures, communities, and identities, and to recognize the profound and lasting impact those experiences continue to have on survivors today.
May we carry this learning forward with deeper understanding, compassion, and accountability, and let it guide us toward meaningful actions in our field as we continue the work of reconciliation.

Imagine being a child whose world has suddenly changed. New adults, new routines, new worries. Now imagine being able to go to a grandparent's house, stay with an aunt, or live with someone who has always been part of your life.
That familiar face can mean so much.
Kinship caregivers help children keep some of the things that make them feel like themselves. They know the family stories, the important people, the routines, and sometimes even the comfort foods that make a difficult day a little easier.
Those connections matter. They can help children feel a little more secure when so much else is changing.
