Who had more fun this morning; adults or the children?

Sunday is a busy day, Happy Fathers Day!
Start the day with a Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast while supporting the family of a beloved local Early Childhood Educator that recently passed.
Then head up to Kinnaird Park for Indigenous Peoples Day hosted by COINS.

We are having our Aboriginal Day celebration at Kinnaird Park from 10 am - 2 pm this Sunday June 21, 2026.

It is going to be beautiful weather this year, we hope to see you there!

Quail Chicks are working hard to hatch.

Waste? Inspiration? Opportunity? Respect for resources?
This past weekend I took part in a landscape watercolour workshop at the Gallery.
I returned to the centre with the workshop waste to see how the children would interact with it.
Last week we had no “new” paper, instead we used the colours and creations living in our recycle bin. Recently our recycle bin has been overflowing with minimally used paper.
Using the recycled paper has brought new inspirations as we found snippets of others previous projects.

Grad Weekend!
Congratulations to the SHSS Grads of 2026.

Grad Parade starts at 1:15 Saturday at Millennium Park.

Thank you Mherly for sharing with us in recognition of the Independence of the Philippines.

Did you know June 12th is known as Day of Freedom commemorating the Declaration of Independence from Spain in 1898.

This morning we started exploring Sculpture Walk, looping around City Hall.

Dog walkers, water, birds, women, sad animals, horses and a “rocket” were some of our favourites so far.

We spent time at the square drawing our own ideas and inspirations.

The train moving through town was the biggest highlight even if it was a bit loud.
