Another morning on the job in goat paradise!
We are at the Castlegar Art Gallery all day today and tomorrow, making sure the vetch infestation gets cleared from the butterfly gardens before it goes to seed. Come by and say hi to the goats!

It hasn't stopped raining quite yet, but that's ok, goats eat wet grass and brush too!!

If you've ever had comfrey on your land, you probably know just how successful this invasive species is! While it has many medicinal uses, you only need so much comfrey. Luckily it's a favourite treat for goats!

Goats love raspberry canes! This can be a problem if your goats get into the garden... but in areas where raspberries and blackberries have gone wild and aren't being maintained and harvested, they can be grazed. Berries will attract bears and wasps, among other things, and you may not want them too close to your house.
No fencing? No problem! Besides setting up portable electric fences, we also graze our goats by hand; monitored by a person and several herding dogs. This means we can safely pass-through graze areas with no fencing.
