Run 4 Refugees

Here is another opportunity to support refugees. CaRe (Castlegar Refugee Project) is putting on a BIG International Culture Festival on Sunday, Nov 13th from 1-4pm at Castlegar Recreation Complex. If you are interested in showcasing your culture through table displays, food, singing, dancing, contact Julie Leffelaar on [email protected]. All proceed will go towards supporting a refugee family of 4 from Myanmar.

Big THANK YOU for the wonderful response for the Run 4 Refugees fundraiser yesterday. We had 70 registered walkers and runners who braved the rain to complete the 5km course. Over 200 community members dropped by at the International Culture Display. We raised $6,000 in total including online, event day registrations and token donations. Here are some photos from the event. More will be coming. Stay tuned.

Runners & walkers, please arrive at 9:30am and head to the registration desk. If you haven't registered online, we encourage a $20.00 cash donation per participant. For online donations, visit www.run4refugees.com. Run will happen rain or shine. Dress for the weather. Remember there is no such thing as bad weather, only wrong clothing!

Castlegar run raising money for Ukrainian refugees - Castlegar News Run 4 Refugees will also feature a mini international festival

Run 4 Refugees is a local event to raise funds that will go to the Canadian Red Cross Ukraine Campaign. It is a combination of a 5km run/walk at Millennium Park and a Mini International Festival with fun activities and many ways to donate!
Register to run or create a team and have friends and family donate in support of you. If running's not your thing, come check out the small scale International Festival where there will be displays and activities to enjoy.
