🏒Dear Players, Parents, Guardians, and Coaches,

This is an important reminder regarding participation in non-sanctioned hockey while registered with Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) and Hockey Canada.

Under HEO policy, players and coaches cannot participate in a non-sanctioned league after September 30 and continue participating in sanctioned minor hockey without eligibility consequences.

Key Policy Points:

• 🚫 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀: Anyone who participates in a non-sanctioned league after September 30 becomes ineligible to register with or affiliate to an HEO/Hockey Canada team for the remainder of the season (subject to applicable reinstatement provisions).

• 🚫 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 & 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳: Any bench staff who participate in a non-sanctioned league after September 30 cannot serve as bench staff with a Hockey Canada team for the remainder of the season.

• ⚠️ 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲: Participation in even one game—including exhibition, tournament, league, or playoff games—may trigger these eligibility restrictions.

We appreciate your cooperation and encourage all players, families, and coaches to ensure they fully understand these requirements before committing to another hockey program.

We are excited to officially announce our upcoming Lanark Carleton Minor Hockey League (LCMHL) season!

Following the team placement meeting on September 29th, WCMHA submitted our proposed team placement levels, and we are pleased to share that our team placements have been approved by the LCMHL board! Across every association in the league, the shared focus was clear: fostering a safe, positive environment for our kids to develop their skills, build friendships, and grow their love of the game.

Across the league, U9 through U13 feature a 3-tier system; U15 and U18 run a 2-tier division, and U21 operates as a single-tier division. WCMHA will participate in the LCMHL based on the approved breakdown below:

As the dust settles on another fantastic Carp Fair, West Carleton Minor Hockey Association (WCMHA) is getting ready to gear up for an exciting season ahead! With our second ice pad coming back online, our 𝗨𝟳 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝘆 across both the W. Erskine Johnston Arena and the Cardel Recreation Complex.

Not only are they providing incredible continued support for our U7 program, but they are also celebrating 𝟯𝟬 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 to our community and neighbouring associations. As a reminder for the upcoming season, the Ottawa B League is officially moving to 𝗥𝗔𝗠𝗣 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and will be using their electronic gamesheet system.

Please review the following key updates regarding 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴:

• 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗽: Head Coaches & Managers will receive the electronic gamesheet information during the October 4th meeting.
• 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: The 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 is required to report all game scores and penalties online immediately following the completion of every game.
• 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: When assigning the mandatory Goalie Win/Loss/Tie decision, the result must be assigned to the goalie who was on the ice at the 3rd period buzzer.
