Canning Library

Just a reminder that the library hours tomorrow are from 9am to 2pm.

Come in and peruse our Truth and Reconciliation display!

On Friday October 2nd, the Library hours will be from 9am until 2pm.

A big thank you to our special volunteer Valerie Gardiner, whose care and attention to the Library's front garden provided a colourful and welcoming display for our patrons and all who passed by this summer.

Our fall library hours begin next week! 🍁🍂

💌But with fall comes saying goodbye to our summer staff. Thank you for all your hard work these past months. It was a great joy to have you as part of our team!😁

Wonderful readings and conversations with authors Jessi Maceachern, Adam Haiun, Holly Vestad and Kasia Van Schaik tonight at the library — with many more writers in attendance! It’s exciting when you feel people think about things in other ways 🧠

Isn’t it terrific to be read to? Come hear four visiting writers do just that this Thursday at 7pm: Fredericton-based Kasia Van Schaik, whose We Have Never Lived On Earth was longlisted for the 2023 Giller Prize; Tiohtià:ke/Montréal poets Jessi MacEachern (Cut Side Down and A Number of Stunning Attacks) and Adam Haiun (I Am Looking For You in the No-Place Grid); and multidisciplinary writer & editor Holly Vestad, also from Tiohtià:ke/Montréal. All four are on retreat at Jampolis this week, the beautiful Avonport writing residency of the Writers’ Federation of Nova. Welcome them. It’s free!
