Welcome to Groov'n the Rocks, Canmore's only West African & Hip Hop dance classes for those who have two left feet and a fun attitude.
GROOV'N THE ROCKS offers West African and Hip Hop dance classes in Canmore, Alberta to adults and youth with little to no experience. Dance is a fun way to move and get a good workout. Taught by Renee Krysko, dance steps are introduced so that students learn them easily. Renee also provides multiple options so that everyone can work at their own level. Just a reminder that this Saturday and Sunday has Mohamed Tounkara coming as a guest artist to teach West African during DJD's "12 days of Christmas”.
Mohamed Tounkara is a Guinée national that danced with Ballet Matam as a professional dancer and now lives, teaches and has his own dance company in Cleveland, Ohio.
Currently, the schedule includes beginner, inter and advanced, drum classes as well as a “style class” that will be geared toward an intermediate/advanced dancer.
