We are a non-profit organization.The only place to keep a privately owned horse in the Canmore area!
Equestrians are out riding trails in the area. A reminder that Indian Flats and area are part of the BVRA lease! It is a safe place for riders with young horses, children and their ponies and horses coming back from winter pastures! Please give horses space, keep your dogs away from horses and remember horses have right of way!
As the weather warms up and trails dry out, equestrians will be back on the trails in the Bow Valley. Make sure you give horses some space and make your presence known by calling out, especially when biking!

Firesmart and Fencing
There are a few things happening around Indian Flats on the BVRA lease this winter! Some users of the area may have noticed a fence along the road! This is a being installed to make the area safer for equestrians riding in the area!
Also there will be Firesmart work done in this area from January to March 2026. This will limit access for the public during this time!

Indian Flats and the surrounding area is a wildlife habitat patch. Many animals call this home! When using this area please keep your dog with you and reconsider being in this area at night so that wildlife has some reprieve from humans!
