This custom glass design incorporated Celtic elements and was crafted to be installed in the barn doors. The client had personally designed and built these doors. They complement each other seamlessly.

I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with the Round Hill Renaissance Agriculture Foundation to find a concept that would capture and display the spirit of this project.
To showcase Round Hill’s rich history and bright future, it was decided to incorporate a theme of past, present and future. The windows shown in the sign offer a glimpse back in time at Round Hill’s farming community. The grain elevators once stood as a prominent fixture, beside the railway which acted as a gateway between Round Hill and surrounding communities. An old red barn, stooks of straw and old cream cans inspire the imagination of days gone by while the diverse bounty of food produced by today’s Renaissance garden can be seen in the forefront of the sign. The path leading down the center of the sign represents the road to the future with all its many possibilities.
A feather was included to honour and pay tribute to the rich Indige nous history of this area. Feathers are widely regarded to symbolize respect, honour, strength, courage and wisdom within Indigenous ways of knowing which are laced within the past, present and future of the site.
This project contains approximately 380 pieces and took over 85 hrs to create.
I am thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the Renaissance garden and community.

Collaborating with Gord was a truly special experience. Hearing his story and the evolution of ATP allowed me to gain insight and appreciation for his passion of nature, healing and balance. This appreciation is immediately evident walking into ATP as you are transformed by the relaxing, supportive atmosphere. I felt the importance of creating a piece that complimented this emotional experience. Capturing Gord’s vision of the timelessness of nature with its parallel to the human experience was both challenging and rewarding. The viewer’s interpretation of stained glass changes with the intensity and direction of light, therefore the time of day, viewing position and even state of mind alter a viewer’s perception. With this in mind, the project was drawn again and again until each piece flowed together smoothly. Each piece of glass was carefully selected forming different colour and texture combinations, each adding to the depth of the story.
