๐Ÿ‘ Community Champion Spotlight ๐Ÿ‘

The Bible Hill Kinsmen are incredibly proud to celebrate our fellow member, Dave Gillis, for being recognized by the Enterprise Foundation as the winner of the Community Champion Award!

Dave, who works with Enterprise Mobility, was honoured for his outstanding community involvement through the Kinsmen, along with his many other contributions โ€” including his generous and ongoing support of Canadian Blood Services through countless blood donations over the years. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฉธ

This type of community involvement is what Enterprise looks for from their employees across the company and country.

As part of this recognition, Dave was given the opportunity to direct a $10,000 donation from the Enterprise Foundation to a cause that would make a meaningful impact in our community. After discussions with the Bible Hill Kinsmen, Dave chose to support efforts addressing food insecurity in Colchester County.

We are thrilled to share that the $10,000 donation was presented to the Colchester Food Network in support of the incredible work they do helping individuals and families throughout our area. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ–

Congratulations, Dave, on this well-deserved recognition. Your commitment to helping others truly represents what being a Kin is all about!

That's a wonderful cause, Kinette Club of Ponoka! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

We would like to acknowledge and express our gratitude to our senior citizens in the community this week. In support of their mobility, we have contributed $500 to provide complimentary rides on the in-town handivan service, facilitating their access to desired destinations. Happy Seniors Week, we value your presence! Seniors Week is annually observed in Alberta during the first full week of June, specifically from June 1 to June 7 in 2026, in appreciation of the invaluable contributions older adults make to local communities.

We are proud to announce a $25,000 donation to the Scotsburn Recreation Club to support the construction of accessible washrooms at the new Trail Head Park pavilion. When volunteers from the Scotsburn Recreation Club met with our members to share their vision for rebuilding recreation opportunities following the loss of their community centre during Hurricane Fiona, we were incredibly impressed by their passion, dedication, and commitment to creating inclusive spaces for residents of all ages. It was clear to us right away that this was a project deserving of our support.

For more than 40 years, the Scotsburn Recreation Club has been helping build a stronger community through recreation spaces, family programming, walking trails, school partnerships, and events that bring people together. Their focus on accessibility and removing barriers aligns perfectly with the Kinsmen motto, โ€œServing the Communityโ€™s Greatest Need.โ€ We are proud to help ensure the new pavilion will be welcoming and accessible for everyone in the community.

We would also like to recognize our valued partnership with Eastlink, as the majority of the funds we are able to give back to the community are raised through this partnership. Together, we are proud to support projects that strengthen communities across Pictou County and create a lasting impact for future generations.
