We help you safely dispose of old technology. Our mission is to solve technology lifecycle problems.

Out-of-use electronic devices pose a data security risk and environmental challenge for companies when disposing of their old IT equipment and e-waste. At Greentec we are experts in secure data destruction and electronics recycling. WHAT WE DO:

☞ Pick-up old IT equipment and E-Waste
☞ Certify the Destruction of Data and Devices
☞ Refurbish and resale electronic devices

A data destruction policy is not just internal documentation. It is the framework that helps your organization securely handle retired IT assets while complying with legislative requirements.

This latest blog breaks down what your organization's ITAD data destruction policy needs to cover, from data classification and approved destruction methods to chain-of-custody, documentation, and legal requirements.

MYTH: Hazardous materials are simply shipped out once collected.

FACT: Responsible hazardous waste management involves tracking, documentation, regulated storage, and verified downstream processing.

It’s no longer enough to say hazardous materials were removed or recycled. Organizations want visibility into:
• How materials were handled
• Where they were sent
• Who processed them
• Whether the entire process remained compliant

That level of accountability is becoming a much bigger part of responsible ITAD and electronics recycling, and honestly, it should be.

EDSTA will raise the bar for K-12 technology vendors starting July 1, 2026.

School boards will expect clear visibility into how vendors protect student and staff data.

At Greentec, secure IT asset disposition is built on chain-of-custody, certified reporting, secure data destruction, and accountability.

Trust is built through proof, not promises.

Education is changing. Technology is accelerating. Accountability is growing.

That is why Greentec is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor - exhibiting & speaking, at the ASBOA Annual Conference, June 15–17, 2026 in Calgary.

This year’s theme, Leading Through Change: Navigating Complexity in Education, is a timely reminder that operational decisions matter—especially when it comes retired IT assets.

Greentec helps school boards simplify IT asset disposition through secure logistics, chain-of-custody tracking, certified data destruction, responsible electronics recycling, and audit-ready reporting.

Step 5 of the Greentec Proven Process delivers what matters most: proof.

Clients receive detailed and complete, audit-ready documentation for every asset processed, including:

• Certificates of destruction, erasure, and recycling
• Detailed audit reports
• ESG and sustainability metrics

Because in ITAD, working with a certified service provider is essential.

We are looking forward to attending the ECNO Conference next week and connecting with education technology leaders about one of the most important topics facing school boards today: the impact of the new EDSTA legislation effective July 1st, 2026.

EDSTA’s regulations require school boards to complete full data mapping of their IT assets lifecycle – including how and when retired assets are destroyed.

Attend our session, hosted by Jarod Ellis - National Sales Manager, to learn practical and compliant IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) strategies that protect student information, reduce risk, and support sustainability goals and audit requirements.

Jarod will also breakdown what’s happening in the secondary market and what’s impacting the value of your assets that will shape your procurement planning going forward.

Let’s connect at the conference and continue the conversation.

Session Info: June 1, 2026. 3:40pm – 4:25pm. Room 10a.

Step 4 of the Greentec Proven Process - Electronics Recycling, focuses on secure destruction, minimizing environmental impact and maximizing value recovery.

Once the assets have been audited, tested, and sanitized, they fall into one of two outcomes:

• Refurbish and reuse
• Responsible electronics recycling through Greentec's R2v3 certified processes

If recycling is the final destination, hazards are removed and valuable components are recovered.

R2v3 (Responsible Recycling Standard Version 3) is the globally recognized certification for IT Asset Disposition companies, setting rigorous standards for responsible electronics reuse, recycling, environmental protection, worker health and safety, and downstream accountability.

ITAD is about risk mitigation AND secure handling, maximum value recovery, and environmental responsibility, proven through certified processes.

Step 3 of the Greentec Proven Process is where control turns into accountability.

Every asset is tracked, sanitized, tested, and graded using certified processes — ensuring full visibility and compliance.

This is where:
• Data is sanitized or the device is prepared for physical destruction
• Devices are evaluated for reuse
• Asset-level tracking creates audit-ready records

Because in IT Asset Disposition, security and documentation are not optional — they are essential.

Security starts before assets leave your site.

Step 2 of the Greentec Proven Process ensures every device is handled with care from the moment it’s picked up.

Because control starts at pickup — not processing
