Despite the threat of rain it was a fantastic day -- and the Snowbirds were still fantastic!

ARMED FORCES DAY UPDATE: The Snowbirds are expected to take to the skies at noon, weather permitting. Smoke's on at 12:05 pm!

For parents of our Junior athletes who were competing today in Sturgeon Falls:
The North Region Track and Field Meet is cancelled at this time due to an accident on Highway 17.
While a detour is available, transportation timelines have been significantly impacted. All buses departed Northern Secondary School approximately 40 min ago and are making their way home.
We recognize this is disappointing for students and staff, and we appreciate your understanding given the circumstances and the priority of ensuring safe and timely return to schools. When we know for certain if students will be able to catch regular busses home we will confirm, but if you are able to start making pick up arrangements that would be helpful.

Our Grade 6,7 and 8 students have had an absolute blast in the trees today! They are on the road and should make their 4pm pick up time!

Reminder: the P.A. day previously scheduled for June 4th has been moved to Friday, June 5th.

To end our Kindness Week, our ELK classes painted stones, attached kindness notes, and delivered them around the neighbourhood. We were able to personally deliver some to neighbours who were home, and they were so grateful and appreciative. We also had some wonderful helpers from Grades 6 and 7 join us. It was a meaningful and memorable way to end our Week of Kindness!

Students gathered today for an impromptu concert to wish Mr.Bennett farewell! Recently we learned that his love of music and French will be shared at another Near North school next year -- and, we learned late today that the three month training he is to go on as a reservist with the Canadian Forces begins next week!! Mr. Bennett -- you will be missed! We wish you all the best -- Au revoir!

It was a busy day at MTD! Members of the Canadian Legion Branch 445, were here to present awards for the Poster and Literacy contests held earlier this year! Congratulations to these three girls for their hard work!
