🍂Fall is coming and so are the allergies.

As we move out of summer and into our cooler fall season, your dog’s coat can be carrying more than just a little dirt from all those summer adventures.

Pollen, dust, dried grass, environmental debris and other outdoor irritants can settle deep into the coat, especially on dogs with dense, curly, long or double coats.

A thorough professional groom can be a great seasonal reset.

A proper bath, coat cleanse, conditioning treatment and blow-dry can help remove accumulated summer debris from the coat and skin while preparing your dog for a whole new season of fall allergens.

Hello, Calgary.

For those who do not know me yet, I’m Addison, the groomer behind Addison Grooming Studio, and I am pleased to announce that I am now grooming at The Beast Boutique.

My approach is centred around intentional grooming, coat health and creating a finished style that suits the dog in front of me.

I especially enjoy working with poodles, curly and long-coated breeds, specialty trims, significant transformations, puppies and dogs that benefit from a patient, thoughtful approach to grooming.

I also believe strongly in client education. Maintaining a beautiful coat is a partnership between professional grooming appointments and the right home-care routine, and I am always happy to help clients understand what their individual dog requires.

A new chapter for Addison Grooming Studio
I’m pleased to share that I am now grooming from The Beast Boutique in Calgary.

While the location is new, the standard of care remains the same. My work will continue to focus on thoughtful, individualized grooming with close attention to coat condition, balance, finish and the comfort of each dog on my table.

My specialties include:

• Coat rehabilitation and corrective grooming
• Puppy introductions and first grooms
• Nervous and sensitive dogs
• One-on-one, detail-focused grooming

I believe exceptional grooming should be more than a haircut. It should support coat health, preserve proper structure and create an experience that is calm, intentional and tailored to the individual dog.

Misha and Mochi two beautiful cats, and two very different reviews of the grooming process. 🤍

One looks wide-eyed and deeply concerned.
The other appears to be quietly reconsidering every life decision that led to the bath.

Behind the expressions, though, is an important reminder: professional cat grooming is not simply cosmetic.

For many cats, especially long-haired cats, regular grooming helps remove loose undercoat, reduce shedding, prevent matting, improve comfort, and support overall coat and skin health. Some cats maintain their coats beautifully on their own, while others benefit greatly from skilled, gentle assistance.

At Addison Grooming Studio, feline grooming is approached with patience, careful observation, and respect for the cat in front of me. Cats are handled according to their comfort, coat condition, and tolerance not rushed through a process that doesn’t suit them.

Sometimes the result is a smoother coat, less shedding, and a more comfortable cat.
Sometimes the result is also a slightly offended expression wrapped in a towel.

Either way, Misha and Mochi were very good for their appointment, and both left feeling cleaner, lighter, and better maintained.
