Funny How Time Changes You
I came across a Facebook memory this week that made me laugh. It was from way back in 2019 when I still believed Pierre Poilievre was a coward and a racist and no better than the absolute freak show I thought Donald Trump was.
Oh how times have changed.
Back then I was asleep at the wheel. I thought I was informed but really I was following along with the same liberal machine that seems to be running Canada right now and indoctrinating our youth and eastern provinces. Oh and British Columbia.
I repeated what I heard because it felt safe to fit in. I didn’t even realize I was being manipulated.
It wasn’t an overnight awakening either. It was a slow burn. One headline at a time. One lie exposed at a time. And somewhere along the way I started asking questions that the media didn’t want answered.
I started to see courage where I used to see controversy.
I started to see leadership where I once saw arrogance.
And most importantly I started to see truth for myself, not what I was told to believe.
Today I see Pierre Poilievre as one of the few politicians in this country with the grit and common sense to pull Canada out of the mess we’re in. And I believe Donald Trump, for all his flaws, stood up to a corrupt system in ways few leaders in modern history ever have. You don’t have to agree with me, but that’s how I see it now.
So yeah I’ve changed. I’m not ashamed of that. In fact I’m proud of it. Growth isn’t weakness, it’s proof that you’re still alive, still learning, still fighting for what’s right.
We’ve all been wrong before. The real question is whether you’re humble enough to admit it when you finally wake up.
And maybe it’s time for all of us to start having the real conversations again. To stop hiding behind polite silence and actually talk about what’s happening in this country. To challenge each other, listen to each other, and rebuild something we can all be proud of.
It’s time to unite. It’s time to speak up. It’s time to start being Canadian again.
