WORLD MS DAY: HOPE IN ACTION

Today was one of those days that reminds me why we do this work.

On World MS Day, MS Hope had the incredible opportunity to present my dad’s research, Nutritional Strategies for Multiple Sclerosis, live in Calgary. Thanks to the outstanding support of Community Natural Foods and Calgary Co-op we were able to host the event at the new Seton location and bring together people living with MS to hear the science and ask questions. We were also able to do a store tour and review products that were Best Bet Diet friendly.

What made the day even more special was that the presentation didn’t stop in Calgary. It was broadcast live to the MS Independence conference in London and reached more than 1,000 people through Facebook.

The full presentation will be posted soon, but the most meaningful part of the day wasn’t the technology or the audience numbers. It was the people.

Today, I heard independent testimonies from individuals who told me that after implementing the science-based strategies we share through MS Hope, they have experienced what they describe as complete remission of their disease.

I also had the privilege of being stopped at a basketball tournament by a young family who shared that their loved one with MS has been doing remarkably well after following the program.

I am deeply grateful to the MS community, to everyone who attended, watched, shared, volunteered, and helped make this event possible. Most of all, I’m thankful for the incredible team behind MS Hope who continue to dedicate their time and energy to ensuring that this information remains free and accessible to people around the world.

Thirty-one years after my own diagnosis, I remain convinced that people deserve access to every science-based strategy available to help them live their best possible lives.

Thank you to everyone who made today so special.

Onward. There is always hope.

31 years ago, around this time, I returned home from a mountain bike ride and suddenly experienced numbness in my left foot. That numbness quickly moved up my body and into my chest. It was followed by leg spasms, coordination issues with my eyes, and loss of reflexes.

After an MRI, I was found to have multiple lesions in my brain and spine and was told that, if I was lucky, I would be walking with a cane by the time I reached this age. I was also told that diet did not matter.

Guess what?

31 years later… no cane. No symptoms. No neurologists. No MRIs. No MS drugs.

And guess what else?

Diet did (and does) matter.

I quickly put the science-based strategies discussed on mshope.com into ACTION:

* Best Bet Diet
* Exercise
* Optimal vitamin D
* Phytase
* Mindfulness
* Prayer
* Meditation
* Kindness
* Positive thoughts, speech, and actions

All of this information is freely available on our website.

Today, I’m standing on my own, surrounded by amazing people, and from my perspective, living each day as hard and as fully as I can.

Let’s go, friends!!!!!

When Ricardo Garcia was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he followed his doctor’s advice and started medication until the side effects became worse than the disease. A relapse pushed him to search for answers, and discovering Dr. Cicero Coimbra’s high-dose vitamin D protocol changed the course of his life.

In this episode of The Hope & Health Podcast, Mathew Embry talks with Ricardo about dosing as high as 130,000 IU, the science behind the protocol, and how discipline and belief helped him stay relapse-free for more than a decade.

Before becoming a source of hope for thousands of people living with MS, David Lyons was told he would likely end up in a wheelchair. He lost mobility, struggled with worsening symptoms, and faced moments that would have broken many people.

But instead of giving up, he spent years rebuilding his body, rethinking fitness for MS, and searching for a way forward — one step at a time.

In this episode of the Hope & Health Podcast, David opens up about misdiagnosis, mindset, faith, and movement. Watch the full episode below. ⬇️
