I'm putting together my new kayak. It's a Pakayak Bluefin 142. It's beautiful because it's portable. With enough practice, I'm pretty sure I can put it together in the 3 minutes that some YouTubers can.

My son wanted to make chicken parmigiana for dinner. I've only ever served once before, and it was from HelloFresh. I often avoid making dishes like this because it's so time-consuming. The only time I had to make it was on a Sunday. It took both of us about 1.5 hours, including mistakes. It turned out really well.

Clay Pot Asian Food Kitchen is so awesome that we went back for dinner tonight. In addition to the smoked brisket bao and the salt and pepper shrimp, we ordered the dongpo chicken wings, shrimp nachos, gyoza and noodle soup, and smoked beef brisket, mozzarella and cheddar claypot rice. My kids. Even the picky one loved the food. This is pretty much in my neighborhood, so I should really come back more often.

Traditionally, Reunion dinner is served on New Year's Eve. For me, today worked out better. I made three dishes, mostly based on what the kids would eat. Braised mushroom and baby Shanghai bok choy, long life noodles (substituted knife cut noods for yee mein), and char siu.

The Year of the Horse is my kids' birth year. My kids are opposite in personalities, so I'm not sure how much the fortune applies. I really enjoy Chinese New Year and all the traditions that come with it.

Our annual visit to the Lions Festival of Lights. The sledding was fast and a bit icy. My son got a few seconds of airtime at one point, then crash landed. He decided that it was too risky to use his snow skate. I got love tapped by an inner tube because I was too busy filming. (Sorry, no footage of that or the airtime)
