Foothills Toastmasters is a non-profit, volunteer-based club devoted to improving public speaking and leadership skills located in Calgary, Alberta.
Foothills Toastmasters is one of the largest and most established clubs in the Calgary area. Foothills members have competed in and won national and international speech competitions. Many Foothills Toastmasters have enjoyed great success in business & politics as a result of the communication and leadership skills they acquired at our weekly meetings. One of the reasons for foothills strength is
the quality of our evaluations offering constructive feedback. Our membership consists of a great mix of seasoned members and members just starting their toastmaster’s journey. Our members come from a diverse background including, Professional Speakers, Entrepreneur’s, Engineering, Health Care, Charitable organizations, IT, Real Estate, Sales and more. People most often join a Toastmasters group to become a better public speaker, it is important to know that in addition to public speaking people become better listeners, are better speaking off the cuff, are better leaders and have an increased confidence level. Our meetings include a business meeting, table topics (impromptu speaking) and prepared speeches. Meetings are structured so all members participate. We provide a safe, fun atmosphere where members practice and learn public speaking and leadership skills. We encourage guests to attend to get a feel if Foothills is a good fit. Foothill Toastmasters meet every Thursday at 6:00 pm at the Calgary Elks Lodge & Golf Club at 2502 6 St NE, Calgary.
