We are extremely excited to finally announce a breeding we have been looking forward to for a long time:

This is not a breeding we made simply because two dogs have impressive pedigrees.

We chose Spike vom Adlerschrei because he represents so much of what we admire in an excellent German Shepherd: strong working ability, power, drive, precision and outstanding temperament, combined with excellent documented health results: HD A-normal • ED normal • DM free • LÜW 0 • OCD free • DNA tested.

With this breeding, we wanted to deliberately combine two exceptional influences - Hercules vom Großen Ex and Bordy Blendy.

D-Rex carries Bordy Blendy in her pedigree, while through Spike we bring in the Hercules vom Großen Ex line. We have had the opportunity to experience the quality of both Hercules vom Großen Ex and Bordy Blendy first-hand, which makes this combination especially meaningful to our breeding program.

Xtris D-Rex (HD NZ • ED normal • LÜW 0 • OCD free • DM carrier • DNA tested) is the second Canadian generation born at XTRIS Kennel from the bloodlines we have deliberately chosen to develop in our own breeding program.

D-Rex represents the qualities we want to preserve: stable character, strong working drive, trainability, confidence and a genuine desire to work with her handler.

This is an SV Performance Breeding, with both parents holding SV Breed Surveys and IGP3 titles, bringing together proven working ability, strong pedigrees and the qualities we value in our breeding program.

We expect high-drive, stable puppies with the potential to excel in working homes and active, experienced families. No long coats.

At XTRIS, we don't breed simply to sell puppies. We breed the dogs we want to live with, train with and compete with.

EXCITING NEWS!

In the coming months, D-Rex will be traveling to Germany to meet a male we have spent considerable time researching and carefully selecting.

This breeding brings together two outstanding modern working families. Through her grandsire, Bordy Blendy, D-Rex carries the genetics of one of the sport’s most accomplished competitors, while the sire traces directly to Hercule vom Großen Ex, an internationally respected producer known for consistently passing on working ability, strength, and balance.

Beyond his own accomplishments, he has already produced several litters in Germany and internationally, with breeders continuing to place their confidence in him and his progeny.

Both D-Rex and the sire are SV-recognized breeding dogs, having met the SV's performance and breed survey requirements. This will be a true performance breeding, built on proven working ability, sound temperament, and adherence to one of the world's most respected breeding systems.

Cobra has officially been added to the stud list of the Police of the Czech Republic, and today we had our first official breeding. 🙂 🇨🇿🐾

Not bad for a dog that was bred in Canada and somehow made his way back to the country where so many great working dogs are produced. Life has a funny way of coming full circle.

Who knows… maybe one day a police dog bred in the Czech Republic will get exported somewhere in the world and people will look at the pedigree and see: “Canadian bred.” 🇨🇦

That would be a pretty funny twist in the story.

Either way, I am proud to see Cobra recognized and trusted within one of the most respected working-dog programs in the world. Onward. 🐕💪
