This is why starting when you're young is so advantageous. $50 a month at age 20 gives that person 1.6 million at age 60 , and they only spent $40 k total, and make a passive income of about $200k/year at age 60. At age 40, to get the same result you have to spend $1000 / mo . Really, at age 40 is max timeline if you want to have a decent retirement by age 60.
One of the greatest wealth generation techniques you can have is to stop spending money on depreciating assets and things that ultimately result in higher monthly expenses. One of the first things most people do is increase their monthly expenditures when they achieve more cash revenue. Instead of getting a new car and taking on another $500 monthly payment , that can go into the S&P 500 .
