Registration is _*OPEN*_ for the next Monthly Youth Sikhi Workshop. Please use a *new form* to register for this month.

The next workshop will be on _*Saturday, February 8th, 2025*_. The upcoming session topic with be: _*Sangat:Inside and Outside*_. Everyone is asked to be in the Gallery by 3:20 pm.

*Attendance Update*: Attendance(open at 3pm) will *ONLY* be taken for *NEW CHILDREN* (attending for the first time) and *SPECIAL ACCOMODATIONS* (Allergy, Safe Pick-Up).
Returning students with no accommodations, are asked to be upstairs in the gallery for 3:20pm (Handouts will be given in class)

With Maharaj’s Kirpa there will be Rainsabhai Kirtan happening at Dashmesh Culture Centre next Saturday (November 16th) to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj’s 555th Parkash Purab!

Sri Akhand Paath Sahib will be happening prior to the Rainsabhai, and Amrit Sanchar will be the following morning. Details can be found on poster

In honour of this year’s Annual Shaheedi Smaagam, DCC Gurmat Studies presents a Movie Night dedicated to the Shaheeds.

The Battle of Amritsar is a film that explores the significance of the battle for the Sikh panth through the eyes of those who witnessed and participated in it.

Using powerful historical footage, the film highlights the deep faith (sharda) of the sangat, beautifully underscored by the sacred verses of shabad. This artistic portrayal of Sikh resistance provides a deeper understanding of the significance of the Battle of Amritsar.

Rajni, the youngest daughter of Rai Duni Chand, was a devout Sikh during Guru Ram Das's era. Her father, angered by her devotion, married her to a l***r as a punishment. Despite her hardships, Rajni cared for her husband with unwavering faith in God. One day, while begging, her husband bathed in a miraculous pool and was cured. Rajni, initially doubtful, was convinced by the remaining leprosy on one finger. The couple thanked God and sought the Guru's blessings, reaffirming Rajni's faith and devotion."

Sangat Ji with Maharaj’s Kirpa, we are excited to announce a Gurbani Memorization Competition in honour of Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji and the Shaheeds of 1984! Open to all ages, this competition invites participants to do their best effort of memorizing Gurbani. The chart above provides details on the specific banea to be memorized by each group.

Sangat Ji, Rainsabhai Keertan has been confirmed in Lloydminster, AB on August 10th!

Bus will be going from Calgary, fees are $70 per person. Please contact us if this fee holds you back from going with us (info on poster).

Being in a sangat that’s blessed to have many opportunities to attend smagams locally, daas does benti in your charan to help the Lloydminster sangat to have that same opportunity.

Khalistan Referendum-Calgary

The non-binding democratic event by Sikhs for Justice offers Sikhs an opportunity for-or-against Punjab becoming a sovereign Sikh state. The campaign has already seen events take place in the USA, Australia, UK and ltaly.
Votes will be tallied and possibly presented to the United Nations for support for an official referendum in India.
The event comes in the same month that India extended a ban on Sikhs for Justice in India for their support of a democratic referendum on Khalistan. India made an attempt to assassinate Sikhs for Justice General Counsel Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in New York last year, resulting in an ongoing case to prosecute the Indian State terrorist behind the attempt.
Voter eligibility requirements
To obtain a ballot paper to vote in the referendum, you must have:
- Must be a Sikh living in Canada
(Immigration status is not required)
- Must be 18+ on July. 28, 2024
- Must prove identity through any of the following documents:
A. Canadian ID
B. Any ID from Punjab such as aadhaar card, PAN card, voter ID card, passport, driving license, birth certificate
-Your identity will not be copied or recorded
A tribute to the Canadian Singhs who attained martyrdom fighting for Khalistan.
