PETER HOOK Dedicates JOY DIVISION’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction to IAN CURTIS.

On Monday night, it was announced that Joy Division and New Order will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Peter Hook – former bassist of Joy Division and later New Order, which was formed after the death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis in 1980 – shared a video to social media reacting to the news.

“Hi. I’d just like to say how wonderfully pleased I am to be finally accepted into the Cleveland Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame,” he said, notably wearing an Oasis T-shirt (who were also chosen to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year).

“I’ve been looking forward to it for years, so I definitely am gonna make the most of it. I’d like to say that this is for Ian Curtis, and for all our fans of both bands. Without you, we would be nothing. So thank you so much.”

“I will see you on the night,” he concluded, adding in the caption: “What an honour – thank you! See you at the ceremony…”

Hook left New Order in 2007. It is unclear if the band’s current members will attend the ceremony.

I am riddled with excitement to be playing this show on May 1st for so many reasons but here are my top 3 in no particular order:

1. just look at that lineup 🤯😵‍💫 ...enough said

2. this will be my 2nd time playing a Drum n Bass show which I'm incredibly honored to get the opportunity to do. I love DnB so fu***ng much and have for a very long time but being a DJ known for primarily playing house music, why would I get booked to play drum n bass...am I right?

3. I've been a musician almost my whole life and I have been playing bass since I was about 12 and played in bands throughout me teenage years. Its where my true musical passion resides. When I taught myself how to mix as a DJ, I immediately set a goal for myself to one day incorporate playing live bass while DJing. I accomplished that goal last April 2025 where I played my first DnB set and threw down live bass over a handful of tracks. It was everything. It was also my first time playing bass on stage again in over 15 years and it was one of the best days of my life as a musician. And now, a year later, Ive been given the opportunity to do it again ❤️

On May 1st, you can expect a significantly more amount of live bass throughout my set as I pluck, thump and slap the strings on 2 out of the 4 basses I own. I've prepared one hell of a musical story to tell with my set and I can not wait to share it with all of you 🎸🎧
