Alberta Lung Cancer Screening Program

I am trying to catalyze a 5k Lung Cancer awareness and fundraising run in Calgary.

The “Give a breath” event was started in Edmonton and now takes place in several other cities across the country, but not in Calgary yet! The event always takes place on the first Saturday in June. We would aim to have a minimum of 50 runners (or walkers) for the initial YYC event.

We are looking for anyone interested in helping get the event off the ground and even a local lead organizer.

If you (or someone you know!) have any interest, expertise and/or time to get involved please let me know!

The AHS lung cancer screening program can now offer self referrals for Albertans interested in getting screened. Please consider this if you are age 50-74 and have smoked ci******es for 15 or more years.

In view of the current COVID-19 situation, we will no longer be accepting new individuals into the Asbestos Exposed Worker Research Screening Program. This will reduce need for individuals to visit hospital facilities and free up resources for our radiology departments. We hope to re-start this program when the situation allows.
