This Sunday - Guest Speaker: Aaron Havens
"God's grace, our faith" - Psalm 33:1-12 and Romans 4:13-25

God's grace and our faith in God is what sustains us through all of the peaks and valleys of our lives. The times when it is challenging to hold to faith and the times when it is easier for us to hold to our faith. We find that God's grace is consistent through it all.

Aaron is a recent seminary graduate from Ambrose University. He is a father to two wonderful daughters, partner to a wonderful woman and pseudo step-dad to a wonderful boy. Aaron works in the disability's sector with young men who live with different mental health challenges and active substance use. He enjoys spending time with family, playing in the outdoors and continually growing in his walk with God, daily.

This Sunday - Trinity Sunday

Guest Speaker: Amy Haynes

“Majesty, Mercy, Mystery” - Genesis 1:1-2:4a and Matthew 28:16-20

On this Trinity Sunday, we step away from rigid "job descriptions" for God and explore the Triune God through the lens of Majesty, Mercy, and Mystery. By examining Lectionary texts, we will hear an invitation to lay down the colonial urge to dominate, own, and control. We will instead listen to the invitation of the Holy to embrace a collective imagination of ecological stewardship, mutual solidarity, and faithful (restful) discipleship in a divisive world.

Amy Haynes is an artist, anti-oppression activist, and a graduate of both the Vancouver School of Theology and Montreal Dio. Approved for ordained ministry with the United Church of Canada, she has served the national church in various roles, most recently on the Equity Support Team at General Council 45 here in Calgary. Amy is passionate about womanist theology, adult education, and writing. She lives in Calgary with her two children, and when she isn't working to contribute to a world that points to God's abundance, you can find her practicing hot yoga, bird-watching, or enjoying a rainy day.
