It is very frustrating to single out landlords for raising the rents on their rental properties. Surely people can understand that we too have increased costs with 6+ % inflation. We are business owners, and shouldn't be expected to subsidize our tenants.

If you want to rent your place out quickly have a wow factor in every room. If you want to keep a great tenant like we have in this place, treat them like a customer that is paying your mortgage.

In the last year we have done a lot of maintenance on our properties. It is essential to keep with a schedule, you keep great tenants, maintain the property value of your homes.

This year alone, we have replaced the roof on two garages, one house, replaced the outdoor stairs at a home, furnaces cleaned, two homes had the interior painted. We also always have all homes professionally cleaned between tenants.

Beginning of September we have two new tenants moving in to two of our suites. Tenant screening is incredibly important. We run credit checks, check all references, phone work places. Although we have had some personality differences with tenants in the past, we have had some met some great people over the years. Providing homes to renters is not easy, but it can be rewarding. Out motto is "Great homes for great people".

Maintenance at your properties is an ongoing thing, not just with tenant turn over. Next month we are cleaning all the furnaces and Sprucing up the lawns. We have a roof to redo, that we tried to get to happen last year, this year for sure!
